Mast Base Attach point

I cut away the foam down to the bottom where I have 6 layers of reinforcing S-glass running across the bottom. I'll bond the hardwood block in with epoxy and high density filler after I drill some holes in it for the mast base. I also created a hardwood block for the sheet block that attaches next to the mast base. It will also get bonded into the foam.

I bought a used Chinook mast base assembly and removed the standard pin that plugs into the base and replaced it with a 1/2" x 3 1/2" bolt. I plan on putting four or five 1/2" inch holes in the hardwood and bolt the base from the bottom of the boat. Having several holes will allow me to adjust the placement of the mast forward and aft.
